What We Do
Darling Arts Studio and Gallery is located in the charming downtown of Landis, NC.
Events
We teach pottery, painting, drawing, and more to artists of all ages and experience levels. Our class offerings and events can be found here. Inquiries about private events or suggestions for new classes can be sent to 111darlingarts@gmail.com.
Pottery Shop
Browse ceramics handmade in our studio and by local artists. A variety of both decorative and functional pieces are available for purchase, including microwave and dishwasher safe dinnerware.
Community Involvement
We are also proud to support our local community through participating in events and partnering with fellow small businesses, artists, and organizations with shared enthusiasm for the arts.
Who We Are
Joyce, Studio Owner
Joyce has spent a lifetime helping others discover the joy of creating. Her journey began with special art programs as a child and continued through high school, where she graduated with Honors in Art and helped launch the Dyke Project in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania - a community project that still stands today.
She studied Fine Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earned a degree from the Dubois Arts and Science of Cosmetology Academy, and graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Most recently, she earned her Associate in Visual Fine Arts from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Joyce is a proud U.S. Army veteran and has also spent over a decade volunteering and teaching at Westside Head Start. Her passion for education and creativity has been recognized with multiple Teacher of the Year awards - twice at the county level and once regionally.
In addition to teaching, Joyce continues to create and exhibit her own work. She has placed in several juried art shows, with her work recognized for craftsmanship and heartfelt style. Locally, she involves herself with art projects from prop pieces for community events to painting murals in cafes.
